The performance The last breath / El último respiro is a collaboration between the Citizen.KANE.Kollektiv and the Mallorcan actress Maite Román. Performing in Stuttgart's historic water reservoir, the Citizen.KANE.Kollektiv fills the underground arches and columned halls with narratives, movement and immersive sound experiences. The performance The last breath / El último respiro was created in collaboration with Mallorcan actress Maite Román and is dedicated to the environmental activist Fernando Garfella Palmer, who campaigned for the protection of the endangered underwater world of the Balearic Islands. He died in a diving accident. The collective weaves a web of soundscapes, taking the audience on a mystical and emotional journey into the depths of the sea, to explore what takes our breath away and how we may catch it again.
The historic water reservoir in Stuttgart-Ost becomes a resonance chamber for the interdisciplinary performance Exspiration by Donya Ahmadifar, Bobby Sayyar, Jens Kuhlmann and Nam Nguyen The. The space, once a place for storing and regulating water, is transformed into an acoustic and atmospheric platform for an artistic exploration of the phenomenon of breathing — as a physiological necessity, an emotional form of expression and an artistic metaphor. The interplay of dance, sound, language and light creates a performative realm in which masks fall and hidden emotions come to light. The boundaries between inside and out, individual and collective, visible and invisible are blurred. The artists examine breath as the source of life, as a mirror of inner conditions and question the relationship between body, psyche and transformation.
